The Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL) has issued a warning to the public, advising them to reject any internet advertisements for fuel subsidy promotions.
A recent gasoline subsidy promotion using a link that spread widely on social media was called out as a fraud.
In a news, the Corporate Affairs Department stated that "GOIL is informing the public of a fraudulent Fuel Subsidy Promotion scheme with a link, being disseminated on social media platforms."
The statement said, "The offer urges unwary clients to participate in a phony trivia contest that will pay winners GHC 500 in addition to other goodies."
Continued from the previous sentence, "GOIL is encouraging the public to disregard the abovementioned Fuel Subsidy Promotion as it is a hoax."
