The President assigned 45 buses for Metro Mass.

For the state-owned intercity transportation firm, it was the first batch of 100 buses that were planned. The first stage of the initiative entails the acquisition of 100 buses, after-sales service assistance, and enough spare parts to repair about 50 damaged buses.
As part of the project's commissioning, President Akufo-Addo declared that technical help in the form of a grant from the Belgian government would also be given to pay for the training of drivers, maintenance personnel, and the company's operational support.
He thanked the Belgian government for its assistance and noted that it highlighted the long-standing ties between the two countries.
Approximately 513 intercity buses were provided to Metro Mass Transit Limited under the Kufuor Administration through concessionary finance from the Belgian government. In order to increase the company's fleet, President Akufo-Addo announced that the government of Belgium had offered another another concessionary loan for the purchase of 40 buses every year for the next five years.
He added that having an effective transportation system was the reason he made it a priority to relaunch the Metro Mass Transit system in the regional capitals through sustained investments in infrastructure and services.
He noted that the existence of an effective transportation system was essential to the growth of the economy. The launching of the buses, according to President Akufo-Addo, will enhance business operations and provide customers with better services. The importance of establishing an effective maintenance culture was emphasized by President Akufo-Addo.
He voiced concern that the social fabric had been destroyed by the misuse or neglect of public resources, which had put a tremendous strain on the nation's resources. I therefore implore the board and management to take action to make sure that the buses I am commissioning today last as long as the Managing Director has pledged.
He continued, "It is gratifying to see that Metro Mass Transit Limited is reclaiming its place as a crucial public transportation service provider that devotes itself to serving the Ghanaian people." In order to sustain the fleet, the business would look into more private sector partnership agreements, according to President Akufo-Addo, who expressed the expectation that these measures, along with others, will breathe new life into the service.
According to him, an effective public transportation system is essential for the development of the growing population, which is why the government has made investments in it. In order to establish itself as a significant provider of public transportation services, he expressed the hope that the business would continue to develop, grow, and create additional job possibilities.
