SEPARATE FROM WHAT IS UNCLEAN

"Separate from yourselves what is unclean and come out from among them," says the Lord "and I will receive you."2 Corinthians 6:17"

"Separate yourselves from whatever is unclean and come out from among them," says the Lord. God wants you to separate from whatever is unclean. That could be so-called friends who are hindering your potential, an unhealthy addiction which is taking all of your time and money, or anything in general which God says is unclean.

What is the dictionary's definition of separate?

It says "If something is separate from something else the two things are not connected."

It also says, "To separate people or things means to cause them to be apart from each other."

If there is something in your life you need to separate from then you will know what that is.

There are two ways;

1. By reading the bible

2. By associating with the right kind of people.

By reading the word we renew our mind and it will become clear if something is not right in our lives. Forming friendships with the right people will help us live right.

It will then become obvious to us if we need to separate from someone or so-called friends who are holding us back from achieving our potential. You are the average of the five people you spend most of your time with. Do the people you spend most of your time with inspire you or are they do they drag you along like a ball and chain?

Making new connections can be as simple as joining new groups and participating in various activities in something you enjoy doing and your enthusiasm will be infectious which will help you make new friends easily.

always have some new vision for your life otherwise you may fall back into your old habits. People who do not have anything new to look forward to usually return to their old ways.

A person who has given up alcohol will not just go along with his or her former drinking buddies on a night out and expect to remain sober. There will be pressures to relapse into the old habits. Some people prefer the old you because they are more comfortable with that.

Some people are unwilling to let go of the old relationships which are not good for them because they have more in common with their unbelieving friends than with their church-going brothers and sisters. At the end of the day it comes down to a matter of choice and no one can make that choice for you but there are consequences for every choice you make and it is up to you to take responsibility for them.

All of this is very important when it comes to dating and those who read my article based on 2 Corinthians 6:14 will know that believers should not be unequally yoked to unbelievers. Here is a link to a christian dating site for those who are interested;

"Separate from whatever is unclean, and I will receive you says the Lord," is a piece of scripture worth remembering; it basically tells us we should let go of the old friends which are hindering our potential.
